What is VouchAtlas?
A crowd-sourced map of how trustworthy places feel. The flow:
- 1.Pick a category up top (right now: laptop theft, walking alone at night, taxi safety).
- 2.Click a country and answer one yes or no question.
- 3.The map colors itself in. Green means "yeah, you're probably fine." Red means "I would not."

How is the data sourced?
Pure crowd opinion. The percentage you see is just how many voters picked the unsafe-leaning answer. If a country has fewer than 5 votes we tag it low confidence, so one grumpy traveler doesn't decide a whole nation. Treat the map like a vibe check, not a safety briefing. Government advisories and a friend who actually lives there will always beat any map on the internet.

How do you prevent fake votes?
A few invisible checks make sure one person counts once per (category, country) pair. Voting again on the same place just updates your previous answer, it doesn't pile on. We keep the rest to ourselves on purpose. The less we say about how the anti-abuse setup works, the harder it is to game.
